This morning, I ran across a piece in eSchool News that should be of interest to anyone involved with K-12″.  It is called Samsung’s Hope for Education and the description reads:

Through a partnership with Microsoft Corporation, Hope for Education will provide more than $2 million in technology and software to K-12 schools in the U.S. that enter an essay competition describing how technology can help improve students’ education. The program, in its fourth year, is a demonstration of the company’s unwavering commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children and youth in supporting education and technology in schools nationwide.

You can enter an essay on behalf of your favorite K-12 school (public or private) at

http://www.hopeforeducation.com/hopeforeducation/index.html

While this is just one of many grants available, this one seems to be open to anyone who wishes to enter the contest on their school’s behalf.  If you recognize the benefit of IT to a child’s education, please enter on behalf you your favorite school.
